The Journal of Dreams 02/18/2010

When you work a lot, you need a lot of energy, a.k.a ATP-the scientific word for it.  I drink a lot of Mountain Dew…a lot!  And I eat a lot of candy, real candy like hard, pure sugar, jelly beans (especially the thicker skinned ones and licorice ones), chewy pure sugar jaw-breakers and pure honey.  Sometimes when I make tea, I use pure raw sugar and put about an inch in the bottom to suck through the straw as I go.  I should be in the Guinness Book of World Records for it; most EVER sugar eaten!

With that being said, I have decided to add mysteries throughout the painting.  There is a place at the bottom of the homepage on the Official site that fits the information perfectly.  I am really unsure if Da Vinci ever placed mysteries in his paintings, I think people made it seem as though he did but it was a grand inspiration.  Another influence believe it or not was the movie Saw.  I am intrigued by the riddles in the movies.  That writer is admirable!  Imagine the fire in a mind that thinks like that?

I am going to have to figure out a way to mark the mysteries to draw attention to them.  There is a lot of information on the website and later ones.  I have kept the MySpace and Facebook up to date and even join some other art specific sites.  I figured any way to get the revelation name out there, the better.  I can’t seem to get any responses for a sponsor and am about to give up on that.  I will have to buy the fiber optics and thermochromics myself.  I also still need Bixbite and a lot of it.  I cannot afford that regardless.

The mysteries will be marked as such (((MYSTERY))), that is pretty noticable and draws attention to it.  That way if it was missed by any chance, it was meant to be I suppose.  I have to keep a log of the mysteries as well.  I had pulled a disclosed mystery from an earlier blog which I will show again later with this mark.  I am planning a great one for Martin Luther King but will have to see if it is usable after he is painted.  I am going to write backwards throughout the painting with lead pencil which will show up when x-rayed.  That will be neat!

I understand.

THE REVELATION PAINTING

~made known unto me the mystery~

Little was know what this all meant until today.  The core of this entire project shines into and around me.  The Revelation Painting has evolved from an originally religious painting to a painting which reveals truth in so many levels.  The truth of corruption and religion itself, the truth about power and its manipulation of humanity, the truth of how life is meaningless where the opportunity exist to make money and the true crimes against humanity occurring every single day!

Although it has “always been this way”, does it have to remain this way?  If a person was not born into wealth, does it make them any less of a human being?  This is the true core of the matter.  I tried to explain to a doctor once that the world is losing its humility, modesty and compassion for one another and he abruptly stated:  “We are human, we make mistakes.”  I thought:  “That is the biggest mistake of all; making excuses for ignorance as though that makes it unavoidable.”

Who, not what gives the wealthy of this earth the absolute right to make decisions which destroys human life?  It should be the other way around in a world where human existence has value.  Instead of having ten mansions that a person cannot possibly live in at the same time, it should be mandatory to forfeit minimally 10% of net income to a measurable cause.  Measurable, meaning the world see’s the effect and people truly benefit.

When you have some much money you can’t spend it, ten houses, 5 yachts, eighteen cars, and on and on, why not feed a child a piece of bread to give her strength to walk away from a vulture standing over her waiting patiently for her demise?  Why should any fellow human being have to endure that type of torture-EVER?  There are children in South Africa who don’t even know we have been to the moon…imagine.  In a way, that may be better, then they will never know how the world left them behind…our brothers and sisters.

They will never know how our greediness destroyed the earth and killed the dreams they never even knew they had…

In A World Not So Far From Your Own

In a world not so far from your own there is a distant rumble of horses’ hooves on cobblestone streets.
The spine chilling shrill of medieval swords mating in the moonlight conceiving justice and honor.
Beautiful souls seek desperately for the answers but haven’t yet asked the questions.

Murals depicting beauty and faith; angelic women fade from the walls of his castle.
Each season brings more unbearable heat and frustration…

The big fish, our brothers no longer sparkle in the twilight of the sea

as they did in their final rage.
Trees we planted, which in fact were faithful to the end are all gone now,
they house this realm we call technology.

In a world not so far from your own
ugly, hollow faces stare down on our children laughing at what we’ve left them:

No horses or swords to fight their battles, no forest to seek shelter,

no imagination from which to rebuild their dreams…
In a world not so far from your own.

The Journal of Dreams-Artist Personal Reflections

As an artist and a human being, the last thing I wanted to do was start another blog.  The Revelation Painting is a full-time job in itself, not to mention the seven accompanying journals and the current blogs on wordpress, myspace, facebook, and the social networking sites.  It was during my constant updating of these sites I realized there was no real place to put my personal perspectives about the painting, my feelings, controversies, or any other way to express myself and the measures taken to independently market the painting.

This blog is designed mainly to organize a portion of the journal-The Journal of Dreams which is not only the story of the origination of the painting, feelings and actual dreams, but the entire last year coined The Finale’, of The Revelation Painting.  Please feel free to see the blogroll to the right to see other blogs, photos and sites of the painting including www.therevelationpaintingjournals.wordpress.com where other parts of the remaining journals are showcased.  It has been a long and worthwhile journey where I learned more than I could have ever imagined.

Currently I am unsure if any pictures will be posted here since there are many other blogs for photos of work in progress and finished works.  I prefer to use this site for writing in a daily, diary-like fashion and will hopefully use entries in The Journal of Dreams which is one of seven journals to accompany the painting which most notably catalogs the last year of the making of The Revelation Painting.  It is rare that an artist life during a painting of this magnitude is cataloged, and even rarer that the audience gets a first hand look.  Welcome to The Journal of Dreams…
